I Am Jazz Book Review

There has been a lot of talk in recent years about children being born in the “wrong body”. The technical term is Gender Dysphoria. The Homosexual community has championed this cause on behalf of the tiny minority of children who feel like they are different to their physical biology. I have written an essay on this topic which you can read here.

Two days ago I came across an excellent article by Michael K. Laidlaw, MD, a board-certified physician in Rocklin, California specializing in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Dr Laidlw reviewed the book of a poster child of the gender dysphoria movement, Jazz Jennings. The book is a follow up to a high rating reality TV series of the same name that follows his life and experiences.

The book makes many claims that are disturbing and not medically accurate, but very politically correct. The book also omits many deeply troubling and disturbing aspects of the gender dysphoria community. These include huge levels of depression (including Jazz’s own), large scale parental causal factors in gender dysphoria children, high suicide rates and large scale substance abuse.

Most alarming is the fact that over 90% of children suffering from this mental illness (yes there is no biology involved as it is not genetic ) would grow out of it later in life if allowed to, but are now being encouraged to undergo life-changing hormonal treatment to stunt their normal development. This is then followed by radical surgery to change their sexuality. And all this while they are still teenagers!

Our brave new world declares that we can now play God with the one final aspect of our humanity thought to be beyond our control. My essay on this topic finishes with these thoughts, which warrant repeating here:

If we continue on our current politically correct intellectual pathway then it is only a matter of time before all forms of sexual behaviour and disorder become normalised. Same-sex marriage will likewise allow people whose culture accepts such things to argue for polygamous marriage, forced marriage and marriage to minors. How long will it be before paedophilia is normalised? Think about the speed of cultural change in the last 30 years. Why shouldn’t the next thirty be just as radical?

The transgender agenda is yet another example of a society and entire civilisation morphing from rationality to emotion as its standard for ethics and law. We are no longer able to challenge others if their religious, ethnic, sexual or chosen gender. Heaven forbid, we cannot even allow young people’s political feelings to be offended, as we saw after the 2016 election of Donald Trump as US president. Inner subjective feelings must be validated with all the weight of the law.
